Mount Sillara
Beech woods, lakes, meadows, blueberry fields and a panoramic ridge from which the view can range 360 degrees… this is what you will see when you reach the Mount Sillara, the highest peak of the Parma Apennines which marks the border between Emilia and Tuscany.
Here you will also find a small stone chapel with the statuette of the Madonna, a peculiarity and a sign of man's passage since ancient times on this peak, chosen for the positioning of this religious symbol precisely because it is the highest, so much so that it seems to be touching the clouds and being close to the sky.
CuriosityThe dark color of the rocks is evidence of the ancient origins of the Apennines, as the mountain range was initially replaced by the Ligurian Ocean, whose seabed was rich in iron minerals.
