Did you know that ...

During your walks along the streets of our villages or in the woods, you will be able to meet numerous depictions of the Madonna protected by stone walls: they are ours Maestà!

In the Monchio Delle Corti area there is a constant presence of them: you can find them in towns like Rigoso, Rimagna, Trefiumi, Pianadetto, Casarola and Vecciatica.

They spread during the plague period of 1629-1631 as a thanksgiving from the inhabitants of the villages for the grace received in having survived the terrible disease and not been infected, a testimony to the great faith, devotion and gratitude that has always distinguished the inhabitants of these lands.
