Compione Lakes 1686 m
These are two lovely little lakes that shine on the Emilian side of the ridge of theAppennino Tosco-Emiliano.
They owe their name to the village of Compione in Lunigiana, where the shepherds who brought their flocks there to graze came from. They were initially called Dafnia and Ninni, female names, probably to underline the beauty and purity of their waters.
Fascinating and seductive, they are worth a visit!
