Boundary marker of Foce Banciola

Did you know that ...

As you walk along the ridge, you may notice stones with letters or symbols engraved on them: these are the boundary stones, all dated 1828 and commissioned by Maria Luigia to delimit the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza.

In particular, the boundary stone in the photo is that of Foce Banciola and above it you can see the engraving of the letter “M”, because it marked the border with Reggio which at the time was under the Duchy of Modena.
