In the Middle Ages, the lilac-colored trinity herb was used for therapeutic purposes against liver diseases, because at that time there was a widespread belief that anything in nature that resembled a part of the human body, in shape or color, was therapeutic for remedying ailments of that part of the body.
A mistaken belief as this plant has no healing properties and, on the contrary, it appears to be slightly toxic.
