We will walk along the historic Enel pipeline, a easy path that will lead us to discover the forest and the active dryer, where chestnuts are still slowly dried for around 40 days.
Come and experience the enchantment of the chestnut, the patient fruit, as the poet Attilio Bertolucci defined it. A journey through nature, tradition, and the scents of autumn!

The main actor of the day will be the drying room itself: a place steeped in history, scents and warmth.

Mandatory clothing: hiking boots with sculpted soles, backpack, k-way, water (preferably in a reusable bottle).
Recommended: layered clothing (“onion”),
trekking poles.

• EDUCATIONAL INFO

Along the way there will be the visit to a drying roomThis rural building was restored to working order by the women of the Selvatiche cooperative with the aim of drying the chestnuts, as per tradition, with an active fire for 40 days. You will learn the techniques and secrets of this ancient and patient practice and enjoy a snack featuring the cooperative's products.

• LUNCH INFO

At the end of the excursion we will have lunch at the “Da Rita” restaurant in Valditacca with products from the Selvatiche Cooperative, special chestnut menu.
